Without any prompting from us, Collin picked up a funny new routine with this sweet book, Counting Kisses. He kisses the baby's face on each page. :-)

Today is probably at the top of the list for Collin's favorite days ever. He got to spend severals hours doing his favorite thing ~ be in the garage helping Daddy!
Collin is a sweet helper, picking things up and bringing them to his daddy. His very favorite thing, though, is sweeping.
I caught this funny series of shots while Collin was watching Ryan run the air compressor.
This is Collin's "I'm so excited, I'm going to giggle and clench every muscle in my body" face:
Little man was in serious need of a bubble bath after a long, dirty day in the garage!

Usually the "sleeping in the stroller" pictures would come at the end, but today Collin fell asleep at the beginning of our playdate!
My friend Laura and I met at the park today and walked a few laps before getting the kids out to play. C apparently thought it was a good idea to rest up before hitting the sandbox. :-)
Bug did the slide once, but was really just interested in playing in the sand today.
This is sweet Emily.
Collin showed Emily the ropes ~ playing in the sandbox is about getting dirty!
This is Collin's "I'm too hungry to concentrate on playing" face! Today's park date ended with a little snack picnic before we walked home. :-)

Collin's car wash is open for business!
All it took was PVC pipe + Daddy's ingenuity and handiness to make this fun water feature for Collin.
The intention is for Collin to run through it and, someday, drive his bike through. For today, it turned out to be a glorified drinking fountain. :-)
Collin wasn't the only one enjoying the water!
(See the two pooches?!)
For our water-loving guy, not much is better than having free reign to play and get wet! :-)
Today was such a good family day!
It started as usual for Collin, with a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Sometimes he's so hungry he sits on the kitchen floor because he doesn't have time to get into his highchair. :-)
As a special treat for our 6th anniversary (!) today, we made cinnamon rolls. I served them on this gorgeous platter we got from Jeff and Susan. The text is John 10:10, which says, "I came that they might have life, and have it to the full." I think cinnamon rolls qualify as having life to the full!
We went to church, Collin had a nap while Ryan and I worked on a few chores around the house, and then we spent the afternoon in the backyard.
Our attempt at family pictures didn't go so well today...
You know it's windy when it even makes Collin's hair blow. :-)
We had a special dinner out at Cheddar's which, coincidentally, is where we had an anniversary dinner last year. We didn't do that on purpose, but we might repeat the tradition next year!
Can you believe we've been married 6 years?! The time has gone so quickly and we are so very grateful for our marriage ~ another way God blesses us!!
Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times."
Collin Cooper is 16 months old today!
It's been a busy month, as far as development and changes go. Collin is 30 inches tall and weighs 22 pounds, which means he definitely deserves his most frequent nickname -- Peanut. :-) He has 9 teeth because his top one-year molars came in this month.
We have had a good month as far as food is concerned! Collin is getting more brave with trying new foods and we're pretty easily getting him to eat 4-5 servings of fruits and veggies every day. Favorite foods include cheese, sausage, ham, yogurt, cheese, peaches, grapes, cheese, peanut butter, cheese, and crackers of any variety. Did I mention he likes cheese? He's a big fan of cheese! His latest interest with food is dipping. If we're dipping, Collin wants to do it too, so here he's dipping a teddy graham in sour cream (his creation, not ours!)
Little man is attempting to say quite a few words. His word list includes: hi, please (bees), Dada, Mama, toot-toot, tweet-tweet, puppy, woof-woof, meow (mow), snack (na), grandma (mah-muh), papa (boppa), night-night, cracker (ra-ra), wow, milk (mil), cheese (sss), uh-oh, bug, ball (bah), paci (pah), Shelby (Zeezee), and Kacy (Yay-yee). He also says one phrase, which is "ra-ra bees."
A funny habit Collin has developed is imitating after he hears someone cough or sneeze. He puts his hand to his mouth and makes a cough noise several times. Actually, he usually keeps coughing until someone notices. :-) After he does a real cough, he'll typically add a few fake coughs in too.
There's another funny "trick" Collin has been doing... I'll be sitting on the floor, and he'll come over and use his hands to move my knees apart. He'll back into that spot and then use his hands to squeeze my knees back together, now that he's there. Then he'll repeat the whole process several times while giggling. :-)
This is Collin's version of "the look" - except he does it to be funny! :-)
He's getting pretty physical - climbing, running, digging, driving his hot rod, turning onto his belly to slide off the bed, using his feet to climb the stairs (rather than knees), pushing and pulling us where he wants us to be, etc.
Collin has two favorite activities -- reading, and playing outside.
His attention span for reading is quite impressive, actually. He'll sit on our laps to listen to a story, then walk over to the bookshelf for another book, and sit down to listen to the next story. Sometimes he'll listen to five books in a row. His favorite books are Roadwork and There Was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly. We have both memorized because we read them so many times each day!
Outside, Collin thinks pretty much any activity is fun! Collin loves to swing, slide, climb, dig, wander, water the grass with the hose, point at planes, chase birds (he calls them "tweet-tweet"), draw with sidewalk chalk, swim, play in the sandbox, and run around with his puppies.
It is fun to watch as Collin's social skills are developing! He's sweet with other kids, even giving unsolicited hugs and kisses sometimes. The best is when he runs up and hugs our legs to give us a tight squeeze. :-) He's getting more brave with adults too. He always smiles at strangers out in public, but often with his head leaned onto Mom or Dad's shoulder. He's getting to the point now where he sometimes says "hi" to strangers too. It's a step in the right direction, as far as independence is concerned!
Deep in the throes of toddlerhood, we're learning a lot about how to parent our sweet little man who sometimes morphs into a caveman. :-) Collin is smart, decisive, loving, and persistent. Our challenge and prayer is learning to guide Collin to use his strengths for good.
Mr. Helpful is telling me which direction to go as we're out for a run. :-)
We are blessed and having a blast watching our guy grow!

Collin has (sort of) figured out how to "drive" his hot rod!
He's been good at reverse for a few weeks now, but this week he developed a technique for moving forward too.
Collin started saying "uh-oh!" a few days ago. He's finding it to be quite a useful phrase. :-)
Threw my toy on the floor? Uh-oh!
Dropped my milk? Uh-oh!
Shoved the puzzle pieces between the couch cushions? Uh-oh!

It's 90* today, and you know what that means... Time to bust out the swimming pool!
Little bug was splashing around and cracking himself up.
He even got brave enough to try a little tummy time!
"Oh!" What a great time. :-)
