Girlfriend is spunky. She's so fun! Full of facial expressions, Lauren is a great mimic of sounds and actions. She is attentive to details, opinionated, and persistent in letting us know what she wants. She loves to wave and smile, but she's also solidly into the stranger-danger phase.
Crawling is a skill that still evades our little girl, but she isn't upset about it. She'd much prefer to walk everywhere, and she's getting very close to making that her reality. Lauren regularly lets go of whatever she's holding onto, and her balance is good. She gets excited when she's standing alone, and she loves to cheer herself on when she takes several steps in a row!
Another thing evading our baby girl is teeth. 10 months old, and still no sign of them! A lack of teeth isn't holding her back, and Lauren is an impressive eater. She loves to eat, and isn't too particular about what she enjoys. She'll even eat stranger foods, like black olives and mushrooms. Some of her current favorites are cheese, blueberries, bananas, and meat of all kinds. We're pretty laid-back about letting her try everything we have, and we don't often find something she won't eat.
Lauren does a really good job hanging out with her big brother and is very tolerant. We say it's a good thing she has a sick sense of humor, because she thinks it's funny to roll around and be squeezed by Collin. They love each other and it's exciting to watch their relationship develop.
Sweet Lauren, you add so much fun and love to our family. We love you, precious girl!
We're staying very busy around here! We rarely do anything elaborate, yet every single thing we do is awesomely interesting. Two kids means the fun and action is heightened. As we navigate summer with Collin and Lauren, we're having a blast and finding joy in the small things.
Spunky Lauren Kate hangs on tight while I push her around on the trike.
It's most fun when we chase Collin as he drives the motorcycle.
Collin's been working on his golf swing.
Lauren likes her independence and prefers to stand.
Collin is still a hard-working man and always has a project to take care of.
Lauren loved driving this car at a friends' house.
It's so fun to watch the evolution of interactions between Collin and Lauren. We were at a playdate one morning, hanging out in some friends' backyard. Collin was holding a snack, so Lauren quickly worked her way over to him so she could be fed too. He was sweet enough to share.
